Shropshire Studios was appointed to reimagine the pub garden of a well‑known Fuller’s Brewery venue, nestled within the New Forest countryside. The project focuses on transforming the existing outdoor space into a flexible, high‑performing hospitality destination that can be enjoyed throughout the year.
The design proposal enhances capacity, improves flow and introduces a new architectural pergola structure — all while respecting the character of the pub and its natural woodland setting.

The client required a refreshed pub garden layout that would increase covers and support year‑round use, without compromising the relaxed, countryside charm of the venue. The design needed to respond to seasonal changes, weather conditions and varied customer groups — from casual daytime visitors to busy weekend and evening trade.
A key objective was to create a space that feels welcoming, flexible and commercially robust.
DESIGN STRATEGY
The proposal balances commercial performance with atmosphere. By introducing flexible structures and rethinking layout rather than overbuilding, the design ensures longevity, adaptability and minimal impact on the surrounding landscape.
THE RESULT
The redesigned pub garden transforms the venue into a year‑round destination that enhances customer experience while supporting increased capacity and revenue. The proposal strengthens the pub’s position as a welcoming social hub within the New Forest, combining thoughtful design with practical hospitality solutions.
With build scheduled to commence in 2025, the project sets the stage for a refreshed outdoor experience that feels both timeless and future‑ready.
